More summer concerts! PCCB will be performing on Sunday, August 7 @ 2 – 4 p.m. as part of Markham’s “Concerts, Cakes, and Coffee” concert series. We’ll be playing outside at the intersection of Main St. and Robinson St. in Markham. See you there! (map)
The Pickering Community Concert Band will be taking park in the Town of Ajax’s “Summer in the Square” concert series. We will be performing outdoors in the Heritage Square at the Ajax Town Hall (65 Harwood Avenue, Ajax) on Wednesday, July 27 @ 7 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, and come join us for this free concert! In the event of inclement weather, the performance will be moved inside Town Hall. (map)
Join us as we kick off this year’s “Treble in the Park” concert series! PCCB will be performing this Sunday, July 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Esplanade Park gazebo, behind Pickering City Hall. Bring a lawn chair, and come on out to this free event! In the event of rain, we’ll be playing inside City Hall, in the Council Chambers. Hope you can join us!
The Pickering Community Concert Band participated in the Oshawa-Whitby Kiwanis Music & Theatre Festival on Tuesday, where we performed three pieces: Bandology Concert March (Eric Osterling), Tribute (Based on “Quintet” by Michael Kamen, arranged by John Moss), and Winged Victory – Beacons of Light (Brian Balmages).
Our adjudicator, renowned flutist Sir William Hughes, presented us with a Gold Award in the Adult Concert / Brass Band category. His notes included the following comments: “Very nice controlled-sounding band; Super Horns; Very nice articulation / dynamics”. Congratulations, band members!
